Setting up her own studio in Stoke-on-Trent, Claudia Wyatt creates calm and quiet porcelain vessels with a simple elegance, inspired by clean lines and the contrast in nature of precision and randomness. At Clay College she developed a celadon glaze which produces crystal growth in a particular reduction firing schedule. She loves the contrast between the precision and control of making each vessel and the unpredictability of the glaze that makes each pot unique.

Clay College Stoke

A skills-based, full-time course taught by potters making a living through ceramics (unique in the UK), the Clay College Diploma offers 14 full-time students the opportunity to study intensively for two years, learning from the best. An emphasis on core skills and materials, students are taught all aspects of design, throwing, glazing, kiln building and firing, alongside traditional hand building and decoration techniques, business, PR and marketing. They also have classes, workshops and events open to the public.

Craven Dunnill Jackfield have been handmaking tiles in Britain since 1872. Based at Jackfield Tile Works in Ironbridge, Shropshire, they are the leading manufacturer of traditional encaustic tiles in the world, winning awards for their skills, wall and floor tiles, specialist ceramics and interior design. With vast experience in studio pottery, Kevin was Craft Advisor at Potterycrafts, set up a stoneware and porcelain studio in the Peak District and lectures at some of the UK’s leading universities specialising in ceramics. Most recently, he's been series Ceramic Consultant to The Great Pottery Throw Down and is Co-Founder and Course Director at Clay College Stoke.

Jack Laverick

Laverick & Sons was formed in 2018 by father and son duo Tony and Jack, with other son Tom joining in 2024. Established artist and studio potter Tony inspired Jack while growing up. Sharing a passion for clay, plus knowledge and skills in ceramic manufacturing, they created a ceramic lighting company. Specialising in slip casting porcelain and complex glazes and lustres, they produce wall, pendant and cluster lighting in Staffordshire for residential and commercial customers.

Leaving school to become a figurine painting apprentice at Royal Doulton, Lee had an apprenticeship with Minton as a prestige ceramic artist, learning under renowned artist Lynn Sumner. Highly trained as one of the best and last few remaining in the UK, with over 30 years experience, he has worked on client commissions from the Sultan of Brunei to Sir Elton John. Now at Duchess China, Lee pushes the boundaries and techniques of hand-painted and raised paste.

Professionally trained in all aspects of ceramics from studio production to technical glaze science and kiln maintenance, Rachel will continue making from her Nottingham studio.
