Visiting The Burleigh Pottery Factory

Visiting The Burleigh Pottery Factory

Known for intricate patterns inspired by nature, Burleigh decorates statement pieces such as Footbaths, Etruscan Jugs and a variety of Teapots shapes in popular patterns such as Calico, Regal Peacock and Asiatic Pheasants.

'All Made Here'

Burleigh Pottery History

Established in 1851 by Burgess & Leigh (later merging their names to create the portmanteau 'Burleigh') – the purpose-built Middleport Victorian Factory is home to the last remaining manufacturer to still use the traditional tissue transfer technique to decorate Burleigh ware.

With previous owners the Dorling family, Denby Pottery and HRH The Princes Regeneration Trust, what an exciting time, in their 175th year, for the Burleigh brand to be under new ownership – former Burberry Group Chief Executive, Christopher Bailey, and a small group of investors, no less.
